José A. Porras (Ibiza, 1975)
Photographer of vocation, training (Superior Technician in Image) and profession. Laboratorista y printista for years. Its beginnings are closely linked with the negative, the slide, the chemical and medium and large format cameras.
Find nature in an escape in which to express their feelings and concerns in a harmonious and relaxed way saw the digital world born from zero, both at the level of teams and social networks. Little friend of the contests and of the mediocre disclosure, considers that what is really important is the motivation and the creative process of capturing images, although he admits that social participation is important to achieve recognition.
Close to the purist process, simple and without excessive artifice, he teaches photography initiation courses through different institutions, as well as seminars and workshops on Night Photography of Nature, a discipline he has been developing for two decades and which feels pioneering at the Spanish nation.
Founding member of the late GFN (Nocturnal Photography Group) he has participated in numerous group exhibitions and his photographs have been awarded and published in numerous competitions and publications of local and regional scope; as well as in different national and international media besides having collaborated in the publication of several books.
He regularly collaborates with various advertising agencies developing commissioned work, mainly in the field of advertising and reporting.
